To help our clients achieve zero defect and eliminate re-work during the installation phase of projects. We provide the following Services;
Dimensional Control
GoldTouch Engineering can utilize dimensional control to ensure that the efforts made to create a clash free zero defect design are reflected in the final fabricated structure and spools.  The Dimensional  work process employs a high-end precision total station as the fundamental measurement technology and a series of proprietary jigs, such as  SureCenter™ bolt hole location tool(A tool of our partner Ariosh) , to verify the fabricated dimensions of spool pieces.  As part of the Dimensional control work process we have developed software containing analysis algorithms that calculates the flange center, bolt rotation, flange skew, and the critical design lengths of the spool pieces.
A report for each spool is created that details the design conditions against the as-built conditions and indicates which dimensions are out of specification.  The report then contains recommendations for the spool, a picture of the spool in the fabrication yard, and a picture of the design model for comparison.
Cut Line Assistance and Assembly Graphics
Using the facility database and the design model coordinates it is a simple matter for GoldTouch will provide specialists to create a cut line diagram for the construction team.  The example shown is from an actual sequencing deliverable that resulted in bolt up of all spools without the need for any field modifications.

 

The design model is typically not appropriate by itself to communicate the design to other members of the project team – especially when everyone may not speak the same native language.  GoldTouch will start with the design model and enhances it using computer graphics, spool identifiers, and color to make it more understandable to the team. The example shown in the image is of the same project as the cut line image and shows how the assembled line will look in 3D from the cut line on down.  This graphic, and others like it, was effective at communicating the design for the project team which was distributed across two continents and language barriers.
Construction Sequencing
GoldTouch will provide construction sequencing service that will provide step-by-step visualizations in a report format that enables the project team to review and approve construction activities before they commence.   An example is shown below of several steps taken directly from an actual sequencing report that resulted in error free assembly.

GoldTouch Engineering’s   services cover the provision of design complimentary services to facilitate smooth implementation of Brownfield projects through engineering design phase. Service offerings include;

• Tie point Identification / Certification

GoldTouch Engineering can provide data specialists  that will work closely with the design engineers to extract a certified tie point coordinate for each flow line connection point into the existing system. A standard form report is prepared and a CAD model is optionally provided in the proper location and orientation to serve as a snap point for new pipe designs.
The tie point is extracted using our PRISM 3D™ software. PRISM 3D – winner of an R&D 100 award for innovation in 2005 – displays the facility digital database in an intuitive easy to use format so that data such as pipe centerlines can be extracted.

• Verification of Fabrication Isometrics

GoldTouch Engineering will convert Issue for Construction Drawings (Isometrics & Arrangements) to intelligent 3D Models. During the conversion all constructability issues will be identified and ISO’s errors will be completely identified. These models can then be used for clash checking/interference detection.

• Clash Detection and Resolution

GoldTouch Engineering will deliver significant value to you through clash detection and resolution. These two activities are very powerful for eliminating project design errors and GoldTouch can provide expert   detection and correction of design errors, clashes, and missed tie points. As design models are completed, they are imported into PRISM 3D™ and are viewed alongside the digital models of the actual facility. All design elements are checked including piping, supports, equipment, and structure. All potential clashes are identified and resolved before fabrication begins. Demolition plans are prepared using the laser models as a visual cue.

As with gas leaks, large oil leaks or product leaks from operating lines are very easily detected, even more so because they create ever-growing sheens or slicks on the water surface. Barring some external influence, such as an anchor drag or jack-up deployment, these leaks start out as very small leaks and are typically caused by corrosion or material defects or may have been overlooked in initial construction. Identification of very small leaks in the initial pre-commissioning phase of any subsea system is the first step towards system integrity. GoldTouch as a result of its extensive network can facilitate through its relationship with Come Monday, provision of equipment and expertise that can identify such small leaks early on and will greatly lend to prevention or avoidance of possible catastrophic events typically accompanied by environmental damage and associated cleanup costs, expensive repair spread costs, loss of revenue and the ever present public relations / public image issues. Our suite of leak detection systems provides us with means of detecting very small leaks in both newly constructed pipeline systems during hydro-testing and in systems already in service. Typical system selections are as follows:       New Construction             - Dye detectors (3 types)             - Passive acoustics       In-service Systems             - Passive acoustics             - Programmable Mass Spectrometer (PMS)             - Active acoustics We offer multiple, independently operated systems that can be effectively utilized in locating small leaks in systems already in operation and/or during the hydro-testing of new construction. Didson Acoustic Package: this system can detect the presence of tiny bubbles or streams of tiny bubbles in the water column, regardless of water column clarity. Big Ears Hydrophone: this system can detect the sound a liquid or gas makes as it seeps through whatever defect or leak path that might exist. Programmable Mass Spectrometer: this system is capable of taking samples along a pipeline route or near a subsea assembly and determine, very specifically, the presence of any compounds in the inspection area having an atomic mass unit from 1 to 150 amu Dye detection systems; capable of identifying traces of fluoresce in dye as small as 1 ppm in the water column.  All systems are capable of optimal performance regardless of water column clarity.
